DevToolbox has no accounts and no sign-up. This page lists everything the site collects, and why.
What you type into a tool
Every tool processes your input in your browser. The text, code, or data you paste into a tool, and any file you open in one, is not sent to our server, unless you create a share link as described below.
Tool usage counts
When you open a tool page or press one of its action buttons, your browser sends the tool's name and the name of the action (for example cron-parser and parse) to the DevToolbox server. We use these counts to see which tools people use. They never include what you typed.
Share links
The Share link button on a tool page sends that tool's current output, the action that produced it, and the tool's options (such as URL-safe output in the Base64 tool) to the DevToolbox server so it can create a link. Anyone who has the link can open that output. If the tool has no output yet, the button copies the plain tool address and sends nothing. Don't create a share link for output that contains passwords, tokens, or personal data.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to measure visits. On each page it records the page address and title, your screen size, your browser and operating system, and a random identifier stored in two cookies, _ga and _ga_<ID>. Google receives this data and processes it as described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
You can stop Google Analytics from measuring your visits with Google's opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies for this site in your browser settings. Every tool works the same either way.
Cookies
The Google Analytics cookies above are the only cookies DevToolbox sets. The site does not use advertising cookies.
